I'm curious to know your thoughts about recent advancement in A.I.? Do doctors and staff currently use any form of A.I. at hospital? And what your thoughts about machines (e.g. Med-PALM 2) actually starting to ace medical exams? Can they become a replacement? If not, why?

      • Sorry my fault .. A.I. means "Artificial intelligence".

        • Interesting thoughts, and understandable concerns!

At least here in where I practice in the US, am not aware of using A.I. to "replace" experts in anyway or shape, yet. However, there could be some enhancement of the diagnostic software capabilities with enhanced machine learning, but eventually human input is used for final conclusions.

The other interesting element is the governance of A.I. in general, which is currently been debated and discussed at the U.S. congress.

This is just the beginning; more interesting, and potentially scary, stuff to come!

          • Thank you for your comment.. I'm considering the possible future that's why the concern.. I think medical responsibility will be a major factor against any A.I. coming with any medical conclusions.. nobody knows what will happen but I post this only to raise awareness.

            • The general thought is the AI wont be replacing physicians however will facilitate their work working side by side

AI has been introduced into Medicin way long before people think, the interpretation that you see on the top of the ECG paper is actually an AI!

so I think physicians will be able to focus on other aspects of medicine as AI gets incorporated more into the field

              • 👍👍.. Yes I agree, only problem that AI keep evolving further and further and will eat more and more of the work, this is imminent threat for every human worker across all domains that only keep getting bigger.. thank you for your comment and have a nice day 💫.

                • I would rather look at it as an opportunity for advancement rather than a threat, its more or less the same as when US and imaging modalities came up and people were concerned that it will replace the clinical skills aspect…we will have to keep up with all these rapidly evolving!

                  • Believe me at this level of intelligence I view it as an opportunity to improve and I want to believe it will not becoming a threat but I investigated the leading companies including OpenAI and they plan for Artificial Super-Intelligence (ASI) within the next 10 years and I don't think nobody can keep up especially expert level in medical exams already done by many and openAI are not the only company in this race, this is unprecedented!
